Regardless of what the calendar says, Memorial Day has passed and you know
what that means: summer has officially started. New Yorkers are fortunate

this summer.

Summer Music

During the summer New York is a major stop for musicians representing all genres of
music and upon arrival they are ready to rock. So if you are interested in shaking
your money-maker then you must check out the Central Park Summer Stage,
http://www.summerstage.org. The schedule is packed with a variety of performers
from hip hop artist Common, to Joss Stone one of the UK's finest souls singers,
Ozomatli the multiethnic nine piece Latin/hip-hop/rock band as well as jazz
favorite Cassandra Wilson! If classical music is more your speed then check out the
New York Philharmonic Summer Concert Series http://nyphil.org Also noteworthy are
the River to River Festival, The Metropolitan Opera in the Park series, the JVC Jazz
Festival and the Lincoln Center Out Doors series!

Get Your Grub On!
New York City Restaurant Week will occur July 16-20 and July 23-27, 2007.
You could easily score a three course meal for under 40 bucks! The only
problem is that there are so many restaurants participating this year that it
may be difficult to choose, so make sure you do a little research. My
suggestion: select a couple of places that specialize in your favorite
cuisine and the places you couldn't afford otherwise then make a reservation.
Reservations are important during Restaurant Week. Either way, get out there and
enjoy a great meal this summer.

Party All Night Long!
Finally, the Summer on Hudson events at Riverside Park South is basically
combination of cultural events and a free for all party every weekend this summer.
Are you a major movie buff? Forget about your neighborhood theater cinematic
classics like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Days of Heaven and North by
Northwest will be featured on the big during the Summer on the Hudson Free Movie
Screenings. Other noteworthy events include numerous dance performances, kayaking,
yoga classes and out door dance parties. Best of all, most of these events are
absolutely free!

This summer there's no excuse to sit at home. You are now officially in the know so
get out party like a rock star and enjoy your summer in the city!
